International Mission Statement

The purpose of the CNCA is to educate, train, promote, and increase the knowledge and standards of narcotic and explosive detection canines; to support and organize certification tests and trials for narcotic detection canines; and to enhance, in all aspects, the use and deployment of narcotic and explosive detection canines.

As a result of the tragic events that unfolded on September 11, 2001, the mission of CNCA has evolved. CNCA has recognized the need to expand our mission of excellence in training to include explosive detection canines. CNCA has expanded its role in the law enforcement canine community to include explosive detection dogs. CNCA is commited to raise and maintain the same high standards necessary for law enforcement explosive detection canines that we have achieved with narcotic detection dogs. CNCA is doing all things possible to help improve Homeland Security.

California in California Narcotic Canine Association at first glance may be a bit of a misnomer. However, what started out as a Law Enforcement Canine Assoication for California Officers rapidly grew into the global Law Enforcement detection dog organization. We have members on five continents and draw from these sources to bring the best of the best of training staff to our membership at large. CNCA stands for and supports the worldwide law enforcement drug and explosive detection canine community and encourages international participation.

Today we may say aloud before an awe-struck world: “We are still masters of our fate. We are still captain of our souls.” Winston Churchill
